2 troopers fatally struck while aiding driver on Las Vegas freeway

Two Nevada state troopers were killed in a hit-and-run incident while assisting a motorist on Interstate 15, the state’s busiest freeway. The suspect involved in the case was taken into custody hours after the crash, but their identity has not been disclosed. The troopers were hit by a white Chevrolet HHR while checking on a sleeping driver; the vehicle was later found unoccupied at an apartment complex. The incident led to the temporary closure of several highway on-ramps. This is the second incident on the I-15 involving the death of a state trooper within a year.
