Giants Of Africa Celebrates 20th Anniversary With Impactful Camp

Giants of Africa, an organization led by Masai Ujiri, in partnership with the Muslim Women’s Summer Basketball League, held a half-day basketball clinic for 40 girls, aged 11 to 18. The event, part of a “Dream Big Weekend” celebrating the organization’s 20th anniversary, was coached by former professional athletes including Mery Andrade, Kia Nurse, Miranda Ayim, and Geraldine Robert. The clinic aimed to boost both on-court skills and off-court confidence, with drills focused on various aspects of the game. Andrade, also an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors, emphasized the importance of teamwork and the impact of camps like these on representation for young female athletes. The goal of these camps is not only to foster athletic skills but also impart life skills and confidence that transcends the game.
