Becky Hammon, Kendrick Perkins Argue If Jalen Brunson Is “Too Small’

The New York Knicks have had a strong start to the 2023-24 season, due in large part to the performance of Jalen Brunson. Brunson, with an average of 25.3 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game, is being touted as an all-star candidate. Despite this, ESPN’s NBA Today panelist Becky Hammon stated that the Knicks need a ‘1A dude’ to be true contenders, and suggested that Brunson was too small to hold that title. Perkins disagreed, defending Brunson’s position, but conceded that the player’s size could be a disadvantage. As of now, most championship-winning teams have been dominated by larger players.
