Releaf’s president, Andrew Bonello, claims that, despite the progressive stance of allowing the cultivation of four plants, the relatively low threshold for possessing dried flowers puts responsible adult cultivators at risk of unfounded trafficking accusations and significant legal implications.
Releaf is proposing a legislative amendment to raise the home possession limit from 50 grams to 400 grams. Bonello argues that this change is more in line with the potential yield from the legal cultivation of the permitted number of plants under Maltese law.
