Coming in at No. 10 is the Mighty Bread Company.

This South Philadelphia neighborhood bakery is praised for its small batch, naturally leavened breads, tasty baked goods, and hearty meals. One highly recommended menu item is the Rosemary Peppercorn Sourdough.

Stock’s Bakery: A Pennsylvania Institution

Securing the second spot is Stock’s Bakery.

Located in Port Richmond and established in 1924 by Josef Stock, the bakery has been a family business spanning five generations.

Stock’s Bakery offers an extensive selection of cakes, pastries, and desserts.

Yelp reviewer Gina Marie S., assures that the bakery “has earned a place in pound cake history. … They began selling pound cake around 1945, a dessert traditionally made at home. I’m so glad they did!”
