The Life of Joseph J. Guesto

Mountain Top, Pennsylvania resident, Joseph J. Guesto, aged 66, unexpectedly passed away at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Joseph, also known as Joe, was a native of Wilkes-Barre, born to the late Pascal and Rita Zampetti Guesto. He completed his high school education at Bishop Hoban High School in 1975 and went on to earn his associate degree from Williamsport Community College. Joe spent many years working at Mountain Top Foam until his retirement.

Joe’s Legacy

A dedicated member of the St. Jude Parish in Mountain Top, Joe was also a talented musician and drummer for Uncle Sam’s American Band. Above all, Joe was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Frank McKeon, and his sister-in-law, Patricia Schmidt.

Joseph’s Surviving Family

Joe is lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Maureen McKeon Guesto; son, Patrick Guesto and his fiancée, Jen Nenstiel, of Mountain Top; sister, Marie Guesto of Mountain Top; brother, James Guesto and his wife, Kris, of Emmaus; mother-in-law, Ellen McKeon, of Mountain Top; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth McKeon, of Mountain Top; Kathleen Quarles and her husband, Frank, of Palm Beach, Fla.; Mary Colette McKeon and her fiancé, George Lavigne, of France; Brian McKeon and his wife, Bridget, of Onstead, Mich.; Andrew McKeon and his wife, Bette, of Singer Island, Fla.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Celebration of Joseph’s Life

A celebration of Joe’s life will begin with a visitation for family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Jude Parish, 420 S. Mountain Blvd. (Route 309), Mountain Top. Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church between 9:30 a.m. to service time Thursday. A private interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Memorial Donations

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America or Food for the Poor.
