NC State’s Triumph Over Virginia Tech: Armstrong Leads the Charge

Armstrong Shines in NC State’s Victory Over Virginia Tech

Brennan Armstrong showcased an impressive performance, throwing two touchdown passes and scoring two more on the ground, steering NC State to a 35-28 triumph over Virginia Tech in their recent matchup.

Consistent Performance from the Wolfpack

Armstrong delivered a total of 292 yards for the Wolfpack (8-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who scored touchdowns on five consecutive possessions spanning both halves. This win marks their fourth consecutive victory, keeping them undefeated post their bye week.

Historic Achievement for NC State

NC State has now clinched at least eight victories in each of the past four seasons, a first in the program’s history. “We’re peaking at the right time. Offense, defense, and special teams, all the guys are pitching in, and the coaches are doing a good job,” said NC State coach Dave Doeren.

Virginia Tech’s Effort

On the opposing side, Kyron Drones led Virginia Tech (5-6, 4-3) with 225 yards passing and three touchdowns. Despite their resilient effort, the Hokies failed to secure a win after three recent victories out of four previous games.

Armstrong’s Stellar Performance

Armstrong completed 18 of 26 passes for 203 yards and rushed for 89 yards, scoring two 1-yard touchdowns against the Hokies. He also threw touchdown passes of 3 and 28 yards to KC Concepcion. “He’s just having fun…he’s doing now what the offense needs for him to do and letting his skillset be his skillset,” commented Doeren.

Post-Game Takeaways

NC State’s triumph can largely be credited to Armstrong, who has won both starts since returning to the starting role. Virginia Tech, on the other hand, will need a win over rival Virginia in the regular-season finale for bowl eligibility.
