Remembering Joseph J. Guesto from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania

Joseph J. Guesto, a beloved figure and respected member of the Mountain Top community, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Life and Legacy of Joseph J. Guesto

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Joseph was the son of the late Pascal and Rita Zampetti Guesto. A 1975 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Joseph later attained his associate degree from Williamsport Community College. Before his retirement, he had a long and accomplished career at Mountain Top Foam.

Joseph was a devoted member of St. Jude Parish in Mountain Top and had a passion for music. He was an accomplished drummer and played for Uncle Sam’s American Band. However, his most cherished role was being a loving husband, father, and brother.

He joins his father-in-law, Frank McKeon, and sister-in-law, Patricia Schmidt, in death.

Survived by Loved Ones

Joseph’s legacy lives on through his wife of 41 years, Maureen McKeon Guesto; son, Patrick Guesto and his fiancée, Jen Nenstiel of Mountain Top; sister, Marie Guesto of Mountain Top; brother, James Guesto and his wife, Kris from Emmaus, and his mother-in-law, Ellen McKeon of Mountain Top. He also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and relatives who will miss him dearly.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Joseph’s life will commence with a visitation for family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, located at 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude Parish, 420 S. Mountain Blvd. (Rte. 309), Mountain Top, where those attending are asked to gather directly at the Church from 9:30 a.m. onwards.
