Meek Mill joins Gov. Shapiro for the Pa. probation reform bill signing
Pennsylvania’s probation requirements are being reformed under new legislation signed by Governor Josh Shapiro, which also includes a measure to automatically clear criminal records for those who receive a pardon. Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill, an advocate for probation reform, joined Shapiro at the signing. The new legislation mandates probation review conferences after two years or 50% of a probation sentence, whichever is shorter, and mandates felony probation reviews after four years or 50% of the sentence. Mill is co-chair of the REFORM Alliance that fights against the “supervision-to-prison” pipeline.
